Join the GCSS Programme Fellows for Athens
applications now open
Every year, the GCS Summit brings together career services leaders from across the globe for conversations that matter. The people who shape those conversations are the GCSS Programme Fellows, and we’re looking for our next cohort.
The Programme Fellows is an evolution of the Programme Committee that many of you will know. The spirit is the same: a group of community leaders who come together to build an exceptional Summit experience. The model has been refreshed to bring greater openness, transparency, and structure to how we recruit and work.
This is an open call. If you’re a leader in the GCSS community and you have something to contribute, we want to hear from you.
What is a GCSS Programme Fellow?
Fellows design and deliver the Summit programme. Working in small groups alongside a sponsor partner, each Fellow team identifies a topic the profession is genuinely grappling with, builds a session around it, and facilitates that session at Summit.
Beyond sessions, Fellows are the people who make Summit feel like Summit, running icebreakers, supporting the poster programme, contributing to the awards, and helping create the moments of connection that delegates carry home.
The content isn’t chosen by the loudest voice in a call for papers. It comes from the community itself, from what leaders across the global network tell us is currently relevant to them. Fellows receive that intelligence and build from it.
This is a nine-month commitment. The work happens across the year, not just in the weeks before Summit: expect a check-in call roughly every three weeks, with around 1–5 hours of work in between.
Who should apply?
Any leader in the GCSS community, regardless of institution size, type, or geography. This includes leaders from universities and employer organisations, employers’ perspective and ideas have added a lot to the Committee in the past.
We’re not looking for the most credentialed person in the room. We’re looking for the most curious one, someone embedded in the community who knows what questions the profession is sitting with and has the availability to do the work properly. Because the Fellows programme is built on peer-to-peer learning you won’t find anywhere else, rather than expertise delivered from a stage, we give preference to applicants who have taken part in a past Summit, whether by attending, presenting a poster, or contributing to the awards.
We will actively seek applications from geographies and institution types not already well-represented in the current Fellows team.
What Fellows get
A titled role, GCSS Global Programme Fellow, communicated across the global network. Early access to the community intelligence brief. A place on the Summit stage as someone who helped build what happens there. And close relationships with other Fellows and sponsor partners drawn from across the global profession.

- What perspective, experience, or voice would you bring to the Fellows team?
