What will the weather be like in Milan in October?

October marks the end of summer in Milan and the start of autumn. This means the temperatures are still mild, but slightly on the cooler side and there is some expectation of rain. The weather can be fairly unpredictable and changeable, though, so it would be wise to pack some warm clothes as well as something waterproof and remember to check the forecast.

In October, the average daily temperature in Milan is 14.5°C but temperatures can still reach highs of 19°C which can feel quite pleasant. Temperatures are starting to drop low during this month though, especially at night. The average minimum temperature in Milan in October is 10°C.

    What clothing should I bring?
You can get away with a medium/heavy weight, rain proof jacket and umbrella. For footwear, bring comfortable, waterproof boots or shoes. The Summit dress code is business casual to casual.

    What currency should I bring?
The national currency of Milan is the Euro (€). We recommend checking with your bank about additional international transaction fees.

    What is the gift exchange?
On Wednesday, October 1, we will have a gift exchange. It is designed to help you meet a new colleague, meaning that participants will introduce themselves and exchange a gift. Please bring a gift representing your region, place of work or your part of the world (suggested value ~€20). Past gifts have included hats, t-shirts, scarves, sweatshirts, pint glasses and books. Feel free to be creative and bring something you would like to receive yourself!
