How do I access the Summit App?
Download the Summit App to find out who will be attending the 2026 Summit in Cape Town, South Africa. You can view other delegates, sponsors, FAQs and further useful information will be added in the coming weeks.

What will the weather be like in Cape Town in March?
The temperature reaches around 25℃ during the daytime in March, falling away to 17℃ at night. March is largely a dry month, though occasional showers can occur.

What clothing should I bring?
Light clothing for warm days and a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Sunscreen, hat and a light waterproof jacket in case of unexpected showers would be useful too.
The Summit dress code is business casual to casual. One evening will be a “dress to impress” evening, so bring your fancy clothes! -
What currency should I bring?
The official currency in South Africa is the South African rand (ZAR), often shortened to just “rand” and its symbol is a capital R.
The rand is used across the country for all purchases and while credit and debit cards are widely accepted, especially in tourist areas, you’ll often need cash for local shops, tipping, or rural experiences. -
What is the gift exchange?
On Monday, March 16, the morning will kick off with the GCSS gift exchange. It is designed to help you meet a new colleague, meaning that participants will introduce themselves and exchange a gift. Please bring a gift representing your region, place of work or your part of the world (suggested value ~£20). Past gifts have included hats, t-shirts, scarves, sweatshirts, pint glasses and books. Feel free to be creative and bring something you would like to receive yourself!

How do I book extra nights at the hotel?
Your registration is inclusive of 4 nights accommodation (15 -18 March inclusive). If you would like to book any additional nights, please email us as soon as possible at: support@gcssummit.org and we can arrange this for you (depending on availability). Additional nights will be payable to the hotel directly upon check-in.

Breakfast is included as part of your stay.

Do I need a visa?
Some participants may require a travel visa to visit South Africa. You can find information about visa requirements on the gov.za website.
Some countries are exempted from visa control, which means that citizens from those countries do not need a visa to visit South Africa – these can be found here. -
Do I need Medical and Travel Insurance?
Please check with your employer to see if they offer medical and travel insurance or if you need to procure insurance as an individual.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
The easiest and safest way to get around Cape Town is by using Uber Black. We recommend downloading and setting up the app before you arrive so your trip from the airport to the hotel is smooth and stress-free.

How do I get from the hotel to the GCS Summit venues?
The GCS Summit venue will be on the same grounds as the hotel.
Transport will be provided to and from the hotel to the dinner venues each evening. -
Are meals included in the registration?
All meals are included as part of your registration. This starts with an evening reception on the 15th March and ends with a closing reception on the 18th March.
Please note: food provided at the opening and closing receptions (15th and 18th March) will only be canapes/finger food and not a full dinner.

Do you recommend any eateries for either side of the Summit?
While meals will be provided during the Summit, you might want additional dining options if you’re staying in Cape Town before or after the event. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the V&A Waterfront, which offers a wide variety of restaurants. The hotel is also a short Uber ride from Green Point, Sea Point, and Camps Bay—areas known for their great selection of cafés and restaurants, many with beautiful ocean views. -
I’m staying in Cape Town before/after the Summit. What is there to see and do?
