  • How do I access the Summit App?

    Download the Summit App to find out who will be attending the 2025 Summit in Belfast, Ireland. You can view other delegates registered to attend, sponsors, FAQs and a couple of the venues

  • What will the weather be like in Belfast in March?

    Daily high temperatures range from 47°F/8°C to 50°F/10°C, rarely falling below 41°F/5°C or exceeding 56°F/13°C. 

  • What clothing should I bring?

    You can get away with a medium/heavy weight, rain proof jacket, hat, scarf, gloves, and umbrella. The Summit dress code is business casual to casual. One evening will be a “dress to impress” evening, so bring your fancy clothes!

  • What currency should I bring?

    The national currency of Belfast is the Pound Sterling GBP (£). We recommend checking with your bank about additional international transaction fees.

  • What is the gift exchange? 

    On Monday, March 10, the morning will kick off with the GCSS gift exchange. It is designed to help you meet a new colleague, meaning that participants will introduce themselves and exchange a gift. Please bring a gift representing your region, place of work or your part of the world (suggested value ~£20). Past gifts have included hats, t-shirts, scarves, sweatshirts, pint glasses and books. Feel free to be creative and bring something you would like to receive yourself!

  • How do I book extra nights at the hotel? 

    Your registration is inclusive of 4 nights accommodation (9 -12 March inclusive). If you would like to book any additional nights, please email us as soon as possible at: support@gcssummit.org and we can arrange this for you (depending on availability). Additional nights will be payable to the hotel directly upon check-in.

  • Is breakfast included? 

    Breakfast is included as part of your stay. 

  • Do I need a visa?

    Some participants may require a travel visa to visit Belfast. You can find information about UK visa requirements on the Gov.UK website. 

    Starting January 8, 2025, all U.S. travellers (most non-European citizens, including US citizens) visiting or transiting through the UK will need to have a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the UK. The United Kingdom (UK) consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. You can check if you need an ETA to travel to the UK at GOV.UK.

    You can apply for a UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online at GOV.UK or through the UK ETA app: 

    • Online: You can apply online at GOV.UK if you don’t have access to a smartphone. 
    • App: You can apply through the UK ETA app, available on the Google Play and Apple App Store.  
    • The cost is: £10
  • Do I need Medical and Travel Insurance?

    Please check with your employer to see if they offer medical and travel insurance or if you need to procure insurance as an individual. Please note: the Global Career Services Summit is not responsible for any travel or health related issues of its participants, either before, during, or after the Summit.

  • How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

    The Grand Central Hotel, Belfast was selected for proximity to the Summit location, public transportation, and centrality to the city’s hub.The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the Donegall Square South stop. 

    The George Best Belfast City Airport is a short train ride to Donegall Square South or Uber ride to the hotel.

  • How do I get from the hotel to the Queen’s University Belfast Graduate School?

    To get from the Hotel to the Summit location. 

    The walk is 0.8 mile (approximately 18-20 minutes), drive (5-8 minutes) or public transportation (11-15 minutes). 

  • Are meals included in the registration?

    All meals are included as part of your registration. This starts with an evening reception on the 9th March and ends with a closing reception on the 12th March.

    Please note: food provided at the opening reception (9th March) will only be appetizers and not a full dinner.

  • Do you recommend any eateries for either side of the Summit?

    Although meals are provided during the Summit, if you are staying extra nights before or after the Summit you might be looking for places to eat. Visit Belfast have suggestions on their website.

  • I’m staying in Belfast before/after the Summit. What is there to see and do?

    Here in Belfast, you’ll find fascinating walking, bus and taxi tours, cultural escapes, scientific exhibitions and literary inspirations. Not to mention the superb shopping, beautiful landmarks and top class entertainment. Take a look at the Visit Belfast website for inspiration.
